The soles were full of holes, the canvas was coming apart, and there wasn’t even a sign of a lace. That same day, David took Guillermo with him to the store.

Later, David returned home, filled with happiness, knowing his friend’s feet wouldn’t freeze in those old, tattered shoes. Suddenly, his mom called out to him, “David! There’s someone at the door for you! He arrived with an entire truck, actually.”
