Walmart is closing a batch of stores in 2025 — here’s the full list.

Walmart has announced that it will be closing a new group of stores across the United States in 2025, as part of a larger effort to streamline operations and focus on more profitable locations. The company said the decision comes after a review of performance metrics, customer demand, and local market conditions. While closures are never easy, Walmart emphasized that affected employees will be offered opportunities to transfer to nearby stores or other company departments.

The retail giant noted that the move aligns with its long-term strategy to invest in technology, e-commerce, and updated store designs. Walmart plans to expand same-day delivery, improve online pickup systems, and modernize existing stores to enhance the shopping experience. Executives stated that these changes reflect a shift toward efficiency and customer convenience in an increasingly digital marketplace.

Communities impacted by the closures will see operations wind down gradually through the first half of 2025. Customers will be notified in advance and given information about alternative nearby locations. Walmart also intends to collaborate with local officials to minimize economic disruption in those areas.

Here’s the full list of stores closing in 2025, according to the company’s latest update:
Chicago, IL – South Side Supercenter
Portland, OR – Gateway District Store
Atlanta, GA – Cascade Road Neighborhood Market
Denver, CO – Sheridan Boulevard Store
Philadelphia, PA – Roosevelt Boulevard Supercenter
San Francisco, CA – Bayview Store
Cleveland, OH – West 117th Street Store
