An elderly couple had been wed for half a century. The husband’s trademark laugh would always follow his enormous fart as soon as he got out of bed in the morning. “One day, you’re going to fart your guts out,” his wife would always warn him.
The wife had a playful idea while cooking the turkey on Thanksgiving morning. As she waited for her husband’s regular routine, she sneaked into their bedroom with a handful of turkey innards and carefully tucked them into his underwear.
She heard him stir an hour later. He started his morning fart-laugh routine, but all of a sudden the laughter stopped, was replaced by a scream, and then there was silence for ten minutes. When he finally came downstairs, he held up his dirty fingers and looked sheepish.
“Honey, I must apologize to you,” he said. You were correct; I finally let my guts out today. But I’m going to be alright because I managed to get them all back in with the help of God and these two fingers. The playful nature of a long marriage, where even the most ridiculous moments turn into cherished memories, is aptly captured by this amusing prank.
